Seriously, what do they feed you in Themyscira? There aren’t a lot of female characters in this game, and it’s a shame that one of the most iconic comic book female characters is modeled in a way that is not only unrealistic (which by itself would be ok considering she is a comic book character after all) but also totally out of whack. Her proportions are just terrible and make no sense. Wonder Woman can fit 3 of those girls in her bra), she has the waist of a bee and legs Chun-Li sized. She has the shoulders of The Rock, boobs that are way overboard (if you think comic book girls often have too big and unnatural looking boobs, you’ve seen nothing. My first reaction upon seeing her character model was “wtf is wrong with her?”. I absolutely, positively, hate Wonder Woman’s design. Especially for Batman… I really wanted to like Batman in this game… Also Batman is a douchebag in this game. I really am not a fan of Batman and Superman, which is too bad. I haven’t tried all the characters yet, but so far I’m really liking Aquaman, Green Arrow and Harley Quinn. The AI has no difficulty pulling crazy moves on you though, which can be quite enraging when you see someone like Superman or Batman kicking your ass doing things that look really cool but that you know the computer doesn’t have to actually press buttons for. It’s a very static gameplay in that aspect. One of the reasons for it is that pressing a direction while pressing a button means an actually different move, which totally screws with guys like me. Timing to pull off combos feels awkward most of the time and it’s often hard to find when to press the next button for a combo to be successful. The sets of moves are simple but are hard to pull off and don’t feel intuitive. But for guys like me who are more comfortable with a Street Fighter style of game, it’s a very steep learning curve. Very simple set of moves for each character, which can be combined into destructive combos. Those who swear by the Mortal Kombat style of fighting games will have no problem adjusting. When it comes to fighting games, I’m much more of a Street Fighter dude, which plays a lot differently. Before I expand on this, it’s good to note that Injustice was made by the guys who rebooted the Mortal Kombat franchise, and a lot of the gameplay elements in it are obviously taken from the MK games they have made so far. Main biggest issue is with the gameplay, and that’s where my main concern was regarding this game before starting it up, which is also a shame since it’s a fighting game. Flagship characters just usually feel big, clunky and slow. Surprisingly enough, some of the big names (read Superman, Batman, Joker, Wonderwoman, that kind of characters everybody knows) actually aren’t as enjoyable to play as others, maybe less well known, such as Aquaman, Green Arrow or Deathstroke. Large roster of characters to choose from, which is great. Having the ultimate edition, that means I also have all the DLCs and a whole lot of skins for every characters.
